Despite the language barrier with our wonderful hostess, a friendly Bulgarian lady was more than happy to assist with translations, showcasing the warm-hearted hospitality characteristic of this place. Our late arrival was met with a delicious dinner-a hearty pork steak with chips, all washed down with a refreshing local beer, the perfect introduction to Bulgaria's culinary delights. What truly stands out is the peaceful atmosphere; I often find that large hotel chains can feel stuffy and impersonal, but here, the sound of silence was refreshing. The room, spacious and well-integrated with a clean en-suite, featured a cozy fireplace that would surely be an inviting companion for those chilly winter nights.
